The Gmail connection
Gmail is only there for businesses that connected it earlier. This is what the card does, and what happens when you disconnect.
AirBill used to read invoices and receipts directly from your Gmail inbox. That connection is being retired: the Gmail card under Profile → Connections only appears for businesses that already have one. New businesses use their AirBill inbox address instead, which is less invasive — AirBill only sees what you forward to it.
What the card shows
The connected Gmail address, and how many documents have been imported through it. If Google’s permission has lapsed you’ll see Reconnect; renewing it keeps the existing connection working.
Disconnecting
Disconnect stops AirBill from reading new email. Everything already imported stays in your administration — documents, entries, and bookings are untouched.
Disconnecting is final in one respect: there’s no way back to a Gmail connection afterwards, because the option to create one is no longer offered.
Moving to your AirBill inbox
Set up your AirBill address first, then start forwarding the mail you want processed. Once that’s running you can disconnect Gmail whenever you like. See Set up and use your AirBill email address.
